Amanda Grace has been officially named the anchor of 7 News at 4, 4:30, and 5:30. This marks the latest in the musical chairs played at 7 Bulfinch place since the departures of anchors Matt Lorch and Frances Rivera. Grace will co-anchor with Christa Del Camp, who has had a similar path at 7.
Since joining 7 News in 2008 from the now-defunct Fox 6 in San Diego, Grace has served as reporter, weekend morning anchor, weekend evening anchor, and most recently, third weekday morning anchor.
“Fox 6″ still exists as its original XETV; it changed network affiliation in 2008.
I think is a good move for channel 7 however I will still WCVB 5 News for my news I think WCVB is number 1 in Boston and is the best in Boston WHDH has a lot of work in my opinion to be #1 again.
I’ve seen Amanda Grace and I think she does a very nice job. Completely wrong station to be on, but she does a nice job. Speaking of this, I work in the industry and I have seen that this far into the November ratings, 7 has crumbled to it’s lowest ratings ever. 5 of course, leads the pack. But, it is interesting that all of the changes, especially kicking out Frances Rivera and others, seem to be the final nail in that coffin. I wonder if there is a morale problem there. Don’t know anybody there.
Since I have been there, I can add that there really is no measure of “morale” in a working environment where there is absolutely no consideration of how employees feel or thing about anything. I’m sure that most of the employees there now would tell you the same, that morale is no more nor no less than it has ever been. It’s the beauty of an ownership that could care less and shows that at every opportunity. Most smart employees realize it would be of no benefit to worry with how the “team” is doing. There isn’t one, and it wouldn’t make any difference.

If the ratings are as low as you say, then change in anchor is coming. At least they have Sarah French on board now if they need to make changes to the anchor desk.
Noticed that Sorbonni Banerjee has been moved from weekend morning anchor to temporary M-F third anchor in the morning and moved back to reporting only on the evening broadcasts.

They should’ve kept Delcamp in the lead spot. There’s something to be said about the value of a familiar face in local TV news, and neither Khazei nor Lamberty (especially Lamberty) is going to meet that void at 7…Not to mention the unbearably awkward chemistry between them
Why was Kim and Reid on last night? Also, pete was doing the weather? Where was the normal sunday night crew (Sarah,Ryan,JR)
It was probably due to the Patriots game being on before the newscast. Most likely in order to showcase the new team while there’s more eyeballs watching after the game than usual.
They used to do this all the time in years past. They know that more people will be up watching the football game since the Pats are playing so they want to have their main team on to showcase them. Not necessarily because it is a new team, but to show people who may watch other stations during the week what they are missing.

I would say that based on the November book so far, that it is a good move, trying to build a little audience from some new exposure. I don’t know that it can make a dent in a bad situation at this point.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong – but it looks like 7 finally went HD for field cameras for live shots – at least some of them. Much, much clearer, crisper. Last night it looked like half of the live shots were HD. If so – great, a first in the market (and looks just that much better). No more blur!

Wow Channel 7 is winning the 4 by 35 thousand viewers. Channel 7 is losing ground all over the place in the morning and night. Who really thought Kim was draw it was Frances, but I’m sure Channel 7 thinks the viewers just don’t know our anchors.
