7News morning and noon meteorologist Dylan Dreyer is leaving Bulfinch Place for a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity. In an email sent by news director Linda Miele, the affable met was lauded for her cheery demeanor and accurate forecasting, remarking, “It’s hard to imagine the Weather Center without Dylan’s smile [and] her fabulous forecasting,” adding, “…we’re very excited for her and wish her all kinds of success.”
Her next assignment is unknown, but sources tell Boston dot com that Dreyer and her beau have purchased a home in New Jersey, which they claim could be a move to the Today Show.
Dreyer, who has been with the station since 2007, replaced Jeremy Reiner, who switched to weekends in 2008. No word yet on her replacement.

I found her online morning blogs a little much constantly going on about her personal life, wedding plans, vacations with future in-laws, family reunions, weekend barbecues etc… Very unprofessional in my opinion as she is paid to discuss the weather. I never see other Mets doing that. I wish her the best of luck and she does come off a sbeing likeable person on camera, but let’s hope the next meteorologist they hire will be a little more professional. Chris Lambert would be a good choice.
I suspect that’s partly why she was picked for weekend today…don’t they have the weather person also doing the cooking demonstrations and other lifestyle pieces
What is Dylan planning on doing at Today Show??? I cannot image that they are dumping Al Roker???

Aj’s only a freelancer at WMUR, he also freelanced at WLNE for a week. He deserves a full time slot.

It never ceases to amaze me how local talent is here today and gone tomorrow without even a goodbye to their viewers.
I can understand if an individual is moving to a competing station in the same market, but Dylan is supposedly moving to the same network as WHDH.
This industry is often times so callous.
I will miss Dylan without a doubt in my mind. I was thinking of someone good replacement for Dylan. 7 news could hire Jon Bellemore who has been freelancing on fox 25. His twitter says he is looking for full time employment. Below is how I think they should fill the morning slot after Dylan leaves.

Would never happen in a million years. Remember, they fired him, and without going into specific detail, based on the evidence I collected at the time, there’s about as much chance of him ever being invited back as there is of Tom Ellis moderating a presidential debate in 2020.

They fired Kim Khazei, brought her, look what she has done for the ratings. Stop laughing
I don’t remember them firing Kim Khazei. She was a very popular anchor and left to raise her children. I still find her on air presence to be very good compared to the rest of the “eye candy” Channel 7 puts in front of us.
As much as I respect Kim Khazei, and the fact she’s always been so nice to me… I heard it was a different reason she left, but not because she was fired.
The story I heard was that Kim left WHDH partially because of family, and partially because of the fact she was passed over to get Kim Carrigan’s spot, which as you remember went to Caterina Badini (who I really miss).
You may also remember that she didn’t come back to WHDH till a while after Cat left.
Now I’m not dissing Kim who I like and respect, this is just what I heard…
I’d hardly call Christa and Amanda eye candy only.
