Longtime Fox25 morning met Cindy Fitzgibbon announced this morning that she will be leaving the station. After joining the morning news at its inception in 2003, Fitzgibbon became a fixture on the popular morning show.
In her announcement, she remarked that “I’ve made a decision, just really for personal reasons, that when my contract expires on October 3, I’m not going to re-sign,” adding, “I just kind of want to take a little bit of a break. My last day will be in two weeks.”
No word yet on her replacement, though her last day is in two weeks.
Maybe Cindy will take over dylan’s old morning shift on whdh. Here’s what I think fox 25 will do with the weather team after Cindy leaves:

I think she is gonna stay home with those 2 beautiful children. Take some MOM time !!
Personally,I think she is very nice person but did not care for her high squeaky voice. And the new girl is prettier
she will be missed. a true anchor for the fox morning show.
I think she is headed to 7 as well. Probably has to wait out her 30 day non-compete clause.

Can you post some ratings??? We haven’t seen ratings in months.
Under the old BTVN, ratings were posted during each sweeps period and even non-sweeps periods.

She is the best. I shall miss her. She was my favorite “weather girl”and Fox 25′s greatest asset.
She was the “pro” in with a bunch of sophomoric amateurs. The only one with a personality. Sorry to see her go.
Is Kevin L. going to stay on the Morning show permanently?
I miss Kevin on the evening news. He’s smart, spontaneous, and is a good fit with Maria and Marc. If he has seniority, or does he, he should get to choose where he wants to be. Are ratings so low that they need him to boost their time slot? Need answers here!

This was way overdue. Her forecasts were the worst in the Boston market and her constant mugging for the camera was quite irritating.

Fox 25 Boston needs to go back to the format of 3/4 on air hosts. I watched Fox everyday for many years but shortly after Kim left the show changed. Not for the best.
Watching the show is like watching a polo match. Lots of activity but not much happening.
Cindy is just another loss to another wise failing program. Too bad we need good news stations in New England.
I’ll never forget the rain storm a few years back when we were getting 3 to 5 inches and it turned out to be 12 to 17 inches! Cindi came in the next day with a brown bag on her head admitting her wrong showing alot of class! No other weather reporter stepped forward like that. I’ll always respect her for that moment of humor!

As the Kim’s and AJ’s started disappearing, apparently over contract squabbles, I told my wife: “If Cindy goes, I’m done with Fox”. Haven’t watched it since. By the way, she’s too classy for 7.

I can understand Cindy’d decision to take a break. The hours she put in away from her 2 young kids and family is something she and they will never get back. And Fox has tried its best to replace her BUT she has been the weather girl, yes I’m being sexist, since 2003. That is a long time. She was not alone in getting some forecasts wrong, big deal, we all survived. Waking up to her doing the weather and the rest of the Fox morning team was what was nice in the morning.
I hope she and Fox or any of the Boston area stations will sign her up for at least a fill in for people taking a vacation or something.
For what it is worth, I miss her in the morning.

Fox 25 has made wrong moves starting with Q leaving and on with Doug, Kim, AJ and then Cindy!! I am happy to say she has now popped up on WCVB channel 5!! yay! She will be on the eye opener starting at the end of May-June 1! They just announced that JC Monahan will be co-hosting Chronicle at night and Cindy Fitzgibbon will be taking her spot. I barely held on to Fox when Kim left, i started to watch channel 5 half the time to see what else was out there. When Cindy left…I didn’t look back and totally switched over to 5. Now that Cindy is here, I’m sure to stay!
I’m happy to see Cindy Fitzgibbon! I really missed Cindy in the morning although, I love watching channel 5 in the morning, it’s the best! I also think JC Monahan will be missed and I am glad she’s not going too far and we can still watch her on TV! All the best to both of the Anchors!
