Anderson’s Anchoring Weekend Mornings

Memphis anchor Kris Anderson will be making his way to 7News.  The morning co-anchor at the Tennessee CBS-affil will be making his debut on Bulfinch Place on December 30th, where he will helm the station’s weekend morning newscast.

In addition to his position as anchor, Anderson will also report for the weekday edition of Today in New England three days per week.  His last day in Memphis will be this Friday.  No word yet on how long it will take 7 to move him up the ranks.

What does this mean for Tim Caputo who is listed as the weekend TINE anchor now?

  2. Wes says:

I’m not sure but maybe Tim Caputo was just a temporary weekend morning anchor. This morning (12/14) he was in the field reporting

Since Anne left 7 there sees to be a lot more additional reporters added. Reid came and left quickly but the rest have remained and 7 is still adding more reporters…so when is the axe going to fall??

Whdh still hasn’t replaced Dylan Dryer who left well over a year ago. All the other local channels (wbz, wcvb, wfxt) have all hired several meteorologists since September 2012. Why does whdh still have no replacement?

    • Louis says:

WHDH has not hired a new meteorologists for one reason money. They have been able to put on newscasts with three mets. for over a year and save the salary.

For 7 what matters most is the bottom line. As long as their is someone, anyone in the anchor chair who cares. I have never tuned into a news cast and not had someone in the anchor chair. They are able to turn a profit by low wages and freelancers.

7 has had a constant turn over of reporters and anchors (the list is long) in the last few years and still do reasonable well.

If you don’t like what they put on the air change the channel.

I would say they have either decided not to replace Dylan right now or they are waiting for someone’s contract to end or haven’t found the right person yet.

More importantly, anchor changes at WCVB:
    Phil Lipof & JC Monahan – 5-6pm
    Ed Harding & Heather Unruh – 6 & 11pm
Erika Tarantal – new hire from WNBC; to be determined

Really would like to see this site re-invent it self. But it’s lacking horribly.

  6. Wes says:

Erika Tarantal could be taking the 5pm slot with Phil Lipof. JC is the Chronicle co anchor
