Louis, I found the article online that you mentioned. I was surpised by it. I was a fan of Anne when she was in Boston. You can not ask someone who was oviously as miserable and unhappy as she was in Boston to stay. I didn’t know that she was trying to leave for over a year. Anne says on Twitter that she is very happy and engaged to get married so I wish her well. Not everybody loves Boston I guess.

Good coverage, no way! It was all false information, unconfirmed reports from twitter, rumors and guesses. Yea, they were on the air for a long time, but it was some of the most unprofessional coverage I’ve ever seen.

Look Anne Allred has been gone six month get over her. She gave an interview in a St Louis paper you can read it online. She says she was trying for over a year to get out of Boston. Tried to get jobs in Chicago, NY and the network, ended up getting hired in her home town on some back water station where she co-anchors the news for a half hour a day, watched it one night. Remined me of my high school station . Amateur small town news.
She wanted out of Boston and now wines on Twitter how much she misses Boston. Pathetic

It means that I had to rely upon the online streams of the stations to watch, meaning that when I turn on my TV, I get different local channels than the Boston ones. I’m no longer in the Boston area, and I haven’t been for a while, so when things break, I have to actually find it before I become aware of it. It’s not ideal, but it’s how it’s going.

You’ve commented about the ‘decline’ of this website before. After giving it some thought, I think you’re confusing this site with the dearly-departed “Boston TV News: The Scoop” site, run by Mike Page. Unfortunately, that site closed a couple of years ago. This one almost did, too, except I stepped in. And unlike TVSpy, there’s only me here. I don’t have access to station insiders or ratings results, either, as there’s no money around to put towards it. While they have paid writers who find news as their job, I have lots of other priorities besides this site. To sum it up, I must say, TVSpy better be having better coverage given their substantial editorial budget.

Last week, I had an article written by mid-week to be published on Friday. As you may be aware, there was a major news story that happened on Thursday night, which required substantial revision to this story, due in part to the involvement of reporters in the incident. I could have just rehashed everything you saw on TVSpy, but what would the point of that be; you obviously read their stories too, no need to reinvent the wheel.

You can come here and troll all you want, but since the things I write (or don’t) make you think and respond this way, I don’t understand why you would put yourself through all that.

What does this even mean? BTVN neglected to even tweet or post about the Marathon Bombings until ONE WEEK later! BTVN used to be the place to get news about the news–but TVSPY et al have done much better. It’s sad how far downhill this site has gone.
That said, all in Boston media should be rewarded for a job well done in an extremely difficult, sometimes tense, and sad situation.

I’m happy to see Cindy Fitzgibbon! I really missed Cindy in the morning although, I love watching channel 5 in the morning, it’s the best! I also think JC Monahan will be missed and I am glad she’s not going too far and we can still watch her on TV! All the best to both of the Anchors!
